According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, Mustafa made these remarks at a preparatory meeting for the Extraordinary Joint Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab League in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He stated, "It is necessary to submit a resolution to the Security Council under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter to compel Israel, as an occupying force, to cease hostilities in Gaza, ensure immediate humanitarian aid access, and implement the relevant Security Council resolutions."
Mustafa emphasized the importance of coordinated action, practical steps, and sanctions to end Israel's "illegal occupation" of Palestinian territories. He also underscored the significance of supporting President Mahmoud Abbas's vision and efforts to hold an international peace conference.
The Palestinian Prime Minister called for "a resolution to be presented to the Security Council granting the State of Palestine full membership in the United Nations." He urged that this resolution be swiftly implemented following the summit and called for measures to freeze Israel's participation in the UN General Assembly.
Mustafa further called on Arab and Islamic nations to join in a genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice and to push the court to quickly rule on Israel's crimes of genocide against the Palestinian people.
He urged the global coalition established to advance the two-state solution to complete the recognition process of the State of Palestine, support Palestine's full membership in the UN, and take political, legal, and economic measures to compel Israel to uphold the two-state solution.
In October, Saudi Arabia called for a joint Arab-Islamic summit to be held on November 11, 2024, to address Israel's attacks on Palestinian territories and Lebanon, as well as other developments in the region.
