He added, "We see Israel's actions, including its expansion of illegal settlements in the Golan Heights, disregarding Syria's territorial integrity. I believe we need to respond much more strongly as D-8 to these illegal actions that threaten the stability of Syria and our region."

President Erdoğan participated in the "Special Session on the Situation in Palestine and Lebanon" during the 11th Developing 8 Countries (D-8) Summit held in Cairo, Egypt.

In his speech, Erdoğan stated that the oppression and harassment endured by the Palestinian people for years have reached unbearable levels following Israel's attacks on Gaza 440 days ago. He said:

"During these attacks, 50,000 of our brothers and sisters, most of them women and children, were martyred, while over 100,000 Palestinians were injured. Al-Quds al-Sharif, which hosts our first qibla, Al-Aqsa Mosque, is being crushed under Judaization policies. Lebanon, on the other hand, faces additional challenges due to the physical destruction and political and social impacts of Israeli attacks. Since October 7, we, as Islamic countries, have collectively worked on various platforms to halt the genocide in Gaza and to find a lasting solution to the Palestinian issue. In this process, we have followed with appreciation the efforts made by our Egyptian brothers. However, the Israeli administration, emboldened by the explicit support of the United States and the indirect backing of many Western countries, continues to expand its attacks."
